With the construction of luxury apartments and the establishment of cultural center LantarenVenster in building New Orleans' in Rotterdam, the desire occurred for more quality accommodation on the south side of the Wilhelmina Pier. One of the components of the plan of Atelier Quadrat is a series of large granite tree planters equipped with multi-stemmed Pinea.
The objects are placed on the small squares between the tall buildings. On two sides they provide seating for visitors and employees of the surrounding offices. The stone seat pans are slightly polished so that they contrast with the broken edges of the cladding made out of stone strips.
