Gamba! Recreation in Noord-Holland

Gamba! was the winning answer to the competition Recreatie Actueel, written by Kunst en Vormgeving Noord-Holland. The competition was a cultural planning design project whose outcome would be part of the massive expansion of the recreationarea Geestmerambacht. The jury praised the proposal: ‘it reflects the activity’ and ‘it gives a special value to the spatial planning proces’.

Gamba! encourages recreational projects for children and adults, and responds to current recreation needs. Via the Gamba! website project ideas are submitted. These are designed as play cards for voting. Favorite projects will be realized. Successfully completed projects can have a lasting influence on the atmosphere, the use and layout of the area.

The Gamba Project has operated successfully for three years and has given surprising insights on the desired use of the area. The temporary project was completed in 2009.
